“Favorite place to come each winter!” Reviewed August 11, 2015 We love making a trip to Plant City Farm & Flea Market each year after Christmas. I haven't been there on Wednesdays for the flea market, but love the farmer's market. We also take away plenty of food to freeze when we get back home. Love the strawberries!!!

“Amazing acres of vendors of FRESH PRODUCE and WED. Flea Market” Reviewed June 19, 2015 This place is wonderful if you are looking to buy produce in bulk for a restaurant, grocery store or roadside market. You can purchase seasonal fresh produce by the box or bushel for pennies on the dollar compared to retail. You can also visit one or two vendors that sell by the piece or pound, but not so great a deal as in bulk. On Wednesday a few hundred extra vendors come in for flea market day chaos.
I buy produce to donate to Meals on Wheels. I can buy hundreds of pounds of vegetables and fruits for a hundred dollars. I go here about 5 times a year and come back with loads of seasonal oranges, watermelons, onions, potatoes, cucumbers, peppers, strawberries, tomatoes, apples, squash, etc. etc. depending on the season. I love this place. If you are into fresh produce and bulk buying, this is what heaven's gotta be like.

Nav 346 posts, read 666,857 times Reputation: 230 There is a large Farmers market on the corner of highway 39 and Sam Allen road in Plant city. Its a true agricultural market...pickups loaded 6 ft high with everything from melons to fresh corn. we used to live a few miles from it and it was our Sunday ritual to go down and stock up. Prices are cheap and most of the vendors will barter if you like that sort of thing. They open early, since that is when most of the neighborhood fruit stand owners buy their goods. By around 10:30am they are closing up shop. The best time is around 8:30am. Its not quite as crowded and it not "Hot" outside yet. From Wesley chapel is about 20 miles. Just go to Zhills and head down 39 towards plant city. Its on the northwest corner of the 39/Sam Allen Rod intersection with the entrance on Sam Allen.
Definitely worth the trip.

Plant City Farm Market Where 3301 Paul Buchman Hwy, Plant City , FL Call (813) 754-6260
Hours Mon-Sun (6AM-12 Noon for shopping) Gates remain open until 6 PM
This market is not to be confused with the Fla. State Market that is uptown. This market is
north of Interstate 4 on Paul Buchman Hwy. There is certainly nothing fancy here, but I have never
in my life seen as much produce in one place as at the Plant City Farm & Flea Market. Much of the
produce is picked & gathered by the vendors that sell there. I am told that 50 to 100 semi truck load
of produce a week are brought into the market. Most of the vendors are gone by noon time. I talked
to some of the buyers that were there in trucks of all sized from (pick ups to 10 wheeler). Most of
the buyers were from all over Florida and some from out of state. They claim that this is the largest
independent market in the south. I would suggest that you not try to drive through the market, too
much traffic. Park some where around the entrance and walk about.
Definitely worth the trip.

WARNING ! 10 MPH Speed Limit
Forklifts, Tractors, Pallet Jacks, Golf Carts
& All Market Vehicles Have The Right A Way
Do not stop or park in the center lanes and block traffic.
If you do I will scream & holler and act like a crazy fool.
So that you understand, I have a low tolerance of A$$holes. If you stop or park in the middle lane or block traffic in any way, (that tells me) that you don't care about anyone but yourself. You could care less about the
3, 4, or 5 people that are waiting behind you.
If you treat your fellow man that way, then
I will become an Ass and treat you like an Ass.
Nobody should make others wait behind them while they are shopping.
Stay out of the center lane, & I will keep my Big Mouth Shut.
Follow the rules and we can all have a nice day.
Break the rules and you can have a nice day "Somewhere Else"
