Here is a video of my boo boo. While cutting hay a few days ago, I got too close to a pit of water and almost turned the tractor over. I was trapped inside for over an hour until the tow truck arrived. I just didn't have the strength to pull my self out. Lucky that I had my mobile phone with me or I could have been here all day. It just proves that your never too old to do something stupid.

Now I'm sure you always wanted to know this.
Paul Searls saws a 32" log in 86.4 seconds.
Seattle, In little more time than it will take you to read this, Paul M. Searls last night sawed through a log thicker than your dining room table is high. In doing so, he set a record he thinks will stand a long time. As far as Searls personally is concerned it never will fall, The 46 year old Toutle, Washington saw filer hung up his contest cutting saw after whizzing through the 32-inch "fir" log in 1 minute 26.4 seconds and said; "Never again" His sawdust-making feat broke his own old mark of 2 minutes 8 seconds. Searls has been cutting logs in competition since 1936 but never for a living. His occupation is sharpening saws for Wwyerhaeuser Timber Co. in Toutle. The new mark was set at the Pacific Logging Congress.

The song "Kokomo" The Beach Boys hit #1 in US with "Kokomo". They set two music-chart records with this event. It was the longest span of #1 hits (24 years, 4 months since "I Get Around") and the longest gap between #1 hits (21 years, 10 months since "Good Vibrations"). This came together when the music producer Terry Melcher was hired to work on a song with The Beach Boys for the Tom Cruise movie Cocktail. The Beach Boys' glory days were behind them, and they had been playing fairs and nostalgia shows. Click here for more on "Kokomo" |
