Guest Photo For The Week
Anyone that would like to contribute a story about the "Good Old Days" in Plant City, or help write an article for this newsletter, you would be welcomed with open arms.
If you have a photo that you would like to share on this newsletter, send it to pcfmarket@gmail.com ![]() Carl Hinson comes to the Flea Market almost every Wednesday to sell his "Stuff". Carl is a retired school teacher from the Plant City area. He let me scan & copy this photo of Bell's Lunch Counter when it was in downtown Plant City. The young man in the photo is C. P. Hinson, (Carl's Father). I ate there many, many times when I was young. Bell's specialty was a hamburger with mustard & fried onions, and I thought that it was the best hamburger in the world. For those of you that are too young to remember, Bell's Lunch when I knew it was located on E. Haines St. across from Eady's Barber Shop. The barber shop was owned by Linda Eady's father "S. D. Eady". My grandmothers store (Wright's Furniture & Hardware) was just around the corner and across from Hagan's Cafe, which is now Snellgrove's Restaurant.

FOOD TRIVIA "The Popsicle"
Frank Epperson of Oakland, California, popularized ice pops after patenting the concept of "frozen ice on a stick" in 1923. He initially called it the Epsicle. A couple of years later, Epperson sold the rights to the invention and the Popsicle brand to the Joe Lowe Company in New York City.
Epperson claimed to have first created an ice pop in 1905 at the age of 11 when he accidentally left a glass of powdered soda and water with a mixing stick in it on his porch during a cold night. However, the evidence for this is scant. <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <>
Before Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder was the singer in the band "Bad Radio", a progressive funk rock band heavily influenced by the early Red Hot Chili Peppers. In his youth, Red Hot Chili Peppers front-man Anthony Kiedis's had babysitters none other than Cher and Sonny Bono. May 15, 1997 was declared official 'ZZ Top Day' in the band's home-state of Texas. Who passed that legislation? None other than the Texas State Governor at the time, George W Bush. When he was discharge from the US Army in 1960, Elvis Presley weighed 170 lbs. When he died, in 1977, he weighed 260 lbs. Andy White, was the drummer who played on the definitive version of The Beatles' Love Me Do, he never earned more than his original session fee of £7 from playing the track. 1st human eye transplant performed Doctors at Methodist Hospital in Houston performed what was billed as the first human eye transplant on John Madden, 54, owner of a photography studio. The donor eye was taken from a man who had died of a brain tumor and the donor cornea, lens and iris were given to Madden. Although the transplant failed to restore Madden's sight--it has been reported that the donor eye was not preserved enough to keep it viable--the historic procedure was considered a medical miracle. <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <> <>

Disney's Animal Kingdom opens at Walt Disney World My son Steve Waller and our shop "ATFAB" built these stairs for Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. The 1st photo shows it in our shop behind the Flea Market. The second photo is loaded on the truck ready to go and install it. The other photo are after the job was finished at the Disney Hotel. We no longer do this kind of work, it's too labor intensive & hard to make any money. In case your wondering what ATFAB stands for, it's "Any Thing For A Buck"

Weekly Horoscope: For March 22, 2015 by Georgia Nicols
This is for the week of April 22nd. thru March 2nd. All Signs On Monday, the Sun moves into Taurus to stay for four weeks. Taurus has domain over many things, and one of them is money. For example, many bankers are Taurus. So who is surprised that April is the month so many of us are thinking about money and taxes? It goes with the territory. Taurus is also connected with green parks and farms, which is why Taurus people love to hike, walk and own mortgage-free land. They are the most sensuous and tactile of all the signs. They love their creature comforts and are excellent cooks, gourmets and sommeliers. (A chef is just a cook who swears in French.) This is why, in the coming month, we will focus on money, food and wealth. Ah yes, money talks but it doesn't make sense - not when it's cheaper than fuel.
