Its a true agricultural market...pickups loaded 6 ft high with everything from melons to fresh corn. we used to live a few miles from it and it was our Sunday ritual to go down and stock up. Prices are cheap and most of the vendors will barter if you like that sort of thing. They open early, since that is when most of the neighborhood fruit stand owners buy their goods. By around 10:30am they are closing up shop. The best time is around 8:30am. Its not quite as crowded and it not "Hot" outside yet. From Wesley chapel is about 20 miles. Just go to Zhills and head down 39 towards plant city. Its on the northwest corner of the 39/Sam Allen Rod intersection with the entrance on Sam Allen.
Definitely worth the trip.

This market is not to be confused with the Fla. State Market that is uptown. This market is
north of Interstate 4 on Paul Bauchman Hwy. There is certainly nothing fancy here, but I have never
in my life seen as much produce in one place as at the Plant City Farm & Flea Market. Much of the
produce is picked & gathered by the vendors that sell there. I am told that 50 to 100 semi truck load
of produce a week are brought into the market. Most of the vendors are gone by noon time. I talked
to some of the buyers that were there in trucks of all sized from (pick ups to 10 wheelers). Most of
the buyers were from all over Florida and some from out of state. They claim that this is the largest
independent market in the south. I would suggest that you not try to drive through the market, too
much traffic. Park some where around the entrance and walk about.
Definitely worth the trip.
